ACHIEVING LEVEL C – PART-TIME PROGRAM

HOW YOU BENEFIT FROM ACHIEVING LEVEL C

Achieving Level C is structured in such a manner that you acquire the skills necessary to demonstrate to the Public Service Commission that you can communicate at a Level C.

  • You gain the ability to attain your Level C in Comprehension (Reading)
  • You acquire the skills to competently perform in all of the five areas the Public Service Commission evaluates at the Oral Proficiency Test
  • Your personal learning plan is designed according to your learning style
  • You stay involved with your work environment: you start applying your new second language skills at work during your learning, using vocabulary that is pertinent to your work
  • You use work documents in your second language as learning tools: this makes the acquisition meaningful and authentic to your professional context
  • You develop maintenance techniques so that you increase your confidence and your ability to work in your second language

Managers like the program because their staff are only away for about 18 hours per month and the program is affordable.
